How Graston technique is performed:
Graston technique is form of manual therapy which is done by use of metallic and stainless steel instruments to increase the muscle functions. Graston technique is used by wide number of people such as physicians, chiropractors, physical and occupational therapists. The trained therapist perform the treatment by first locating the area which is causing pain and placing the metallic tool to feel the knots in the muscles, secondly the therapist then rub the tool gently to remove the knots which as a result improves the movement and function of the muscles. The tools are made of steel and are either concave or convex in shape with round edges. The person is asked to do couple of exercises such as stretching to warm the muscles. After continuous treatment a person will begin to see a positive change within 6 to 12 weeks.
